TIC NIC: Fall 2012

I recently went on my second trip with the Kale Foreign Messenger Health Team to Nicaragua. The trip’s mission is to provide HIO Specific Chiropractic care to those who would have no other opportunity to receive this unique but needed health care service. We work with some of the sickest of the sick cases out there. The main objective of our care is to remove pressure on the brainstem area of nerve tissue that resides within the two top bones of the neck, C1 and C2. We accomplish this through a very specific procedure utilizing scientific instrumentation and specific adjusting protocols. With the pressure now off the brainstem, the nerve system can now work at its greatest functional potential. When the nerve system is functioning properly, health can be achieved; so no matter the condition: rheumatoid arthritis, convergent strabismus, heart disease, paralysis, diabetes, epilepsy, etc., the body now has the greatest opportunity to function and lot of these conditions can be corrected once health is obtained.

This time around we focused our care on babies, children and young adults. We went to schools, children’s hospitals and orphanages. In three days of work, we saw over 2,000 people. It is always humbling to leave my “safe nest” here in the states and travel to less fortunate countries to put into perspective my own “trails and tribulations”. Even though the majority of people in Nicaragua don’t have iPhones, air conditioning or the latest video game system- what they lack in material possession, they make up for it in generosity, compassion and positive energy. Most don’t have a stable roof over their head or running water, but that doesn’t prevent the people from sharing what little they do have with you. Nothing seems to prevent the true human spirit from shining through. Giving all of my mind, body and soul so others may have the opportunity to be all that they can be is one of the greatest gifts I can give this Christmas. That is the Lasting Purpose: “Give, Love, and Serve out of the goodness of your own heart and expect nothing in return” - Sid Williams
